Wealth

The art and psychology of financial freedom

It's almost always about money. Focus on financial freedom first.

Never worship money, but always avoid people who hate money. They hate competence. They have a distorted view of reality. They are losers. Never associate with losers... or you'll become one.

Poor people spend to be seen. Wealthy people spend to be invisible.

He who buys what he does not need, steals from himself.

People don't get rich because of intelligence. Most people who get rich in business are usually insanely self-disciplined. Self-discipline is the real metric for success.

Rich people stay rich by living like they're broke. Broke people stay broke by living like they're rich.

Salary is for expenses. Equity is wealth.

Being broke is hard. Becoming rich is hard. Choose your hard.

It doesn't take money to make money, it takes leverage to make money.

Where there's value, there's money.

To become wealthy, offer what society wants but can't access easily, and do it at a large scale. Pick an industry for long-term projects with similar-minded people. The internet has opened up diverse career options, yet many haven't realised this. Focus on persistent efforts. In life, the most substantial gains come from building on past progress. Money is a tool for trading experiences. Create valuable experiences to build your wealth.

Prioritise building wealth instead of chasing money or status. Wealth involves owning assets that generate income without constant effort. Understand that it's possible to create wealth ethically. Don't pay attention to those who focus on status games; they often gain status by criticising wealth builders. Money is a sensitive topic as many tie their self-worth and identity to their jobs and earnings, reflecting their skills and competence in the market.

You won't achieve significant wealth by simply trading your time for money. To attain financial freedom, you must have ownership or equity in a business or venture. You're spending time to save money when you should be spending money to save time.

Money follows execution, not precedes it.

Pessimists sound smart. Optimists make money.

Money is a force multiplier to help you live the life of your dreams. However, the perpetual pursuit of more is not the path to happiness. Money doesn't purchase happiness; it buys freedom.

Making money is not something that you do - it's a skill that you learn.

If you want to be wealthy, spend your time earning, learning, or relaxing. Outsource or ignore everything else.

It's nice to have a lot of money, but you know, you don't want to keep it around forever. I prefer buying things. Otherwise, it's a little like saving sex for your old age.

The two biggest investing mistakes are panic buying and panic selling.

Don't tell me what you value. Show me your budget, and I'll tell you what you value.

A problem that can be solved with money is not really a problem.

Don't think money does everything or you are going to end up doing everything for money.

Don't be seduced into thinking that that which does not make a profit is without value.

Wealth consists not in having great possessions, but in having few wants.

The safest way to double your money is to fold it over and put it in your pocket.

Money often costs too much.

Formal education will make you a living; self-education will make you a fortune.

The real measure of your wealth is how much you'd be worth if you lost all your money.

Wealth is the ability to fully experience life.

Money is a terrible master but an excellent servant.

The habit of saving is itself an education; it fosters every virtue, teaches self-denial, cultivates the sense of order, trains to forethought, and so broadens the mind.

Not worrying about money makes life happier and less stressful.

Compound growth rewards patience over get-rich-quick schemes.

Financial literacy is self-defence in a predatory economy.

Debt is okay for big goals, like a house, but not for everyday spending.

An emergency fund is like a safety net for life's surprises.

The richest people in the world look for and build networks; everyone else looks for work.

Wealth consists not in having great possessions, but in having few wants.

If you don't find a way to make money while you sleep, you will work until you die.

Money is a terrible master but an excellent servant.

The single most powerful asset we all have is our mind. If it is trained well, it can create enormous wealth.

It's not how much money you make, but how much money you keep, how hard it works for you, and how many generations you keep it for.

The best way to become rich is to be frugal, not to be a big spender.

Wealth is the ability to fully experience life.

Do not save what is left after spending, but spend what is left after saving.

Every dollar you save is like planting a seed that can grow into a money tree.

True wealth is about having options, not just possessions.
